it was recently brought to my attention that one of my favorite chichas is cancerous! the packaging that is... which contains perfluorooctanoic acid, or PFOA which are chemicals used in the lining of microwavable popcorn bags are part of a class of compounds that may be linked to infertility in humans. also the delicious fumes created by diacetyl is toxic and causes what is known as popcorn lung.

microwaving causes the chemicals to vaporize and migrate into your popcorn, where they can stay in the body for years and accumulate.
